About Meatless Muscles

Meatless Muscles is a resource which I, Cody Hill, have made up to help others along the way of their fitness journey. But here’s the kicker, doing it all cruelty free without eating animals.

But why would I trust you?

I know what your asking, but who is this Cody Hill guy and why would I listen to him? Well like most, fitness was not my job, but more so a hobby for me. I worked my day job, then after I would be off to the gym to work on my body. I remember my Dad would be down in the basement doing weights almost every night, so it is safe to say I came by it honestly. Eventually I met some amazing people in the gym who were prepping for their very first fitness competition. This sparked the interest for me and I started to prep for my first show as well.

After That I Was Hooked

I loved the experience of that first show and all the wonderful people I met along the way. It was such a community and it seemed like everyone was doing it at the time. I continued to compete as I was now hooked. I did a couple more shows after that first one learning more about my body each time.

When It Rains It Pours

What goes up must come down, right? The economy came to a screeching halt, I was laid off and that was the end of me competing. If you have ever done a show before you will know it is not a cheap sport. So I took the hint and hit the books to make my passion into a career. I became a personal trainer and landed my first job helping people meet their goals. I absolutely loved the job and really loved helping people. Seeing them work towards goals we set together was so gratifying, but I couldn’t help feeling like I was cheating these people.

Tragedy Strikes Again

It’s surprising how quickly things can turn and your whole world can be flipped upside down. With a sudden tragic death, very close to home, it had me questioning everything. This is where I started to learn more about a plant based diet and all the benefits it brings with it. I’m sure it started as a way to cope, to keep me busy, to keep my mind off other things. After doing more research, reading books such as The China Study, and implementing a plant based diet to my life things started to change. I actually found myself feeling better and more energetic each day. There might actually be something to this….

Plants For Pipes

Like most, I was under the impression that being vegan usually brought a small frail physique. With bodybuilding and fitness being one of my largest passions I was determined to make it work. As I write this it has been 1.5 years meat free, but better yet, I have successfully added muscle! I have been able to bulk up to gain muscle and cut right down to almost show ready.

Why I Do What I Do

I love animals, that is one reason why I don’t feel the desire to eat them. But to be 100% honest that is not the reason I stopped eating meat, a part of it yes, but not the sole reason. I have always tried to live a healthy lifestyle and keep my body finely tuned. After much digging around and learning all the health implications that came with the average western diet, it seemed like a no brainer. Another large factor for me was the environmental impact the western diet has on our planet. I know with current technology, this is the only planet we have to live on and I want to do my part to preserve that for long as possible. With a population that is drastically on the rise I think it is important to find more sustainable ways of eating. I also would love to kick the ideology that vegan’s are frail and weak by showing that eating plants can still make you “big and tough.”

Meatless Muscles Exists To Help You

With 10+ years working on my fitness and constantly improving my knowledge about it, I want to share that with you. I mean whats the point of hording all that information? I have learned sustainable ways to diet, eating whatever foods I like to eat, and being in full control of my physique. I want to give you the tools to live that freedom and help you along the way. I want to help anyone who desires to switch to a plant based diet, and still keep their fitness goals in check. I am here to serve you the best I can and hopefully make this world a better place one meal at a time. Let’s build that cruelty free muscle together and break some stereotypes so more people can understand that you don’t need meat to thrive.
